Antique floor plan for one of the most famous and maximum secured prisons – Alcatraz Federal Penitentiary (designed in 1907 as the Western U.S. Military Prison, later Pacific Branch, U.S. Disciplinary Barracks, than island became a prison of the Federal Bureau of Prisons in 1934). Alcatraz had a lot of natable prisoners – infamous gangsters, robbers, outlaws: Al Capone, “Bumpy” Johnson, Alvin “Creepy” Karpis, George Barnes “Machine Gun Kelly” and many others. The prison was closed in 1963.
